Cxddie

What is Cxddie?

An agent development environment for CAD.

Cxddie runs coding agents — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini and others — in parallel against real CAD programs. Each task gets its own workspace: a git worktree with its own CAD session, its own terminals and a live 3D view of the model.

Every CAD system looks the same to you and to your agents. FreeCAD, Blender, OpenSCAD, CadQuery, build123d, Autodesk Fusion, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks and AutoCAD all expose the same six MCP tools, so an agent that can model a bracket in FreeCAD can model one in build123d or Fusion.

The 60-second version

  1. Add a project. A project is just a git repo.
  2. Start a workspace. Pick a CAD system and an agent. Cxddie creates a worktree, launches the CAD session and opens the agent in a terminal, already connected.
  3. Prompt. The agent inspects the scene, runs code, screenshots its work and saves. You watch the model update live.
  4. Fan out when you want options: one prompt, several agents, several workspaces. Compare them and Keep this on the winner.

When to use it

  • Parametric parts you'd describe in words: brackets, enclosures, mounts, fixtures, jigs.
  • Exploring several design directions at once without copying files around.
  • Keeping CAD under version control, with code-CAD models you can review in a pull request.
  • Scripting Blender scenes and assets with an agent that can see the viewport.
  • Putting agents to work in the commercial tools your team already uses: Fusion, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

What Cxddie is not

  • Not a CAD kernel. It drives the CAD programs you already have.
  • Not an agent. It runs the agent CLIs you already use, with your own subscription.
  • Not a cloud service. Everything runs locally.
