Cxddie

AutoCAD

Drafting in AutoCAD, through autocad-mcp-pro.

Kind: App MCP · Document: model.dwg · Platform: Windows · Override: CXDDIE_AUTOCAD

Cxddie drives AutoCAD through the open-source autocad-mcp-pro server, which talks to a running AutoCAD over COM, and serves the usual CAD session on the workspace's port.

One-time setup

  1. Install uv (winget install astral-sh.uv). Cxddie runs the server with uvx autocad-mcp-pro.
  2. Start AutoCAD.

If AutoCAD isn't running, Start launches it and waits for it.

One drawing per workspace

Every workspace gets its own drawing: the worktree's model.dwg, created and saved there when it doesn't exist yet. Cxddie opens it again whenever another workspace's drawing was used in between. save writes the drawing to the worktree.

What agents get

AutoCAD drawings are mostly 2D, so agents work with autocad-mcp-pro's own tools, offered as autocad_<tool> (more than 200 of them; autocad_search_tools finds one by AutoCAD command name). Cxddie keeps the workspace's drawing active for them. run_code evaluates an AutoLISP expression. ActiveX (vla-*) and file access are refused.

get_scene lists the drawing's entities with 2D bounding boxes, and screenshot captures AutoCAD's window. There is no STEP, IFC or mesh export, so the 3D tab stays empty; use the screenshot.

AutoCAD support is new and has been tested against a stand-in server, not yet against a live AutoCAD. If something doesn't work, please let us know.
